Funeral services for Gary Lundquist, 89, of Spencer, at 10 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Pastor Erma Wolf will officiate the service. Visitation will take place Thursday, April 3, starting at 5 p.m., at the church, with family present from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. He passed away March 27, at SPARC in Spencer.

Gary Lee Lundquist, the son of Gerald and Margaret (Franklin) Lundquist, was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Spencer. His childhood years were spent in the Spencer area, where he attended school. He and his best friend went to Deadwood, South Dakota, to work in the goldmines for 18 months.

Gary returned to Spencer to marry Edna Meyer on June 8, 1957, in Spencer. He worked as a mechanic for Minick Motors, Lee Holt Motors and Motor Inn from 1959 until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed woodworking, working on anything mechanical, collecting antiques, especially clocks, traveling and especially spending time with family and friends. He was a past member of Clay County Snow Broncs, Trinity Lutheran Church for 60 years and, recently, Bethany Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother, Richard Lundquist.

Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Mark (Colleen) Lundquist of Rossie and Mary (Steve) Fiedler of Spencer; four grandchildren, Jay (Janette) Lundquist, Molly (Amber) Lundquist-Cords, Zoe Fiedler and Zia Fiedler; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Rory, Elyse and Tucker; two sisters, Jeanne (Gordon) Petersen of Huxley and Connie (Roger) Huberg of Royal; other relatives; and many friends.
