Allan Percy Hansen

Allan Percy Hansen, 86, of Spencer, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.
Allan was born on March 11, 1938, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and graduated from Morgan High School. For many years he farmed and raised livestock on the family farm near Gilfillan, Minnesota. During this time he married Shirley Hilbert. Later in life Allan drove thousands of miles across the nation for Southwest Tours in Marshall, Minnesota. Eventually he called Spencer his new home when he met and married Ruth Van Berkum in 1995. Allan worked hard … as a farmer, husband, father, grandfather, golfer and as a good person. If there was a need for something to be fixed, he could fix it. If something had to be built, he could build it.
Allan was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Gilfillan and Hope Reformed Church in Spencer. He enjoyed the fairways and his golfing buddies as a member of the Spencer Municipal Golf Course.
Allan is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, Todd (and Lori) Hansen and daughter, Trisha (and Chad) Severson. He is also survived by grandchildren: Tessa (and Nick) Engler; Hannah (and Jordan) Christianson; Chloe Hansen; and Cayden Hansen. great grandson, Emmett Engler; sister, Arliss Becker; nieces: Nancy Becker, Laurie (and Ken) Dittbenner and Sarah (and Daryl) Seifert; Also surviving are Ruth’s children: Dan Van Berkum and Paul Van Berkum, Beth (and Dan) Van Hove; Dawn (and Ivan) Crane as well as seven step grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Allan will miss his special friend Holly Jensen and his second family at the Warner Dialysis Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Emily Hansen; brothers-in-law: Perry Becker, Dan Larson and Daryl Hilbert; Ruth’s daughter-in-law, Kris Van Berkum; and his beloved dogs on the farm Husky and Kirby.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Morgan.
