Burton “Butch” Lee Sierck, 87, of Spencer, passed away peacefully at his home on March 11, 2023.

Butch was the son of Otto and Hortense (Hartman) Sierck and born in Alta on Dec. 16, 1935. Butch moved to Spencer in June of 1947 and graduated from Spencer High School in 1954. He later married his high school sweetheart, Arlys (Smith) Sierck, on Sept. 21, 1957.

Helen Joyce (Buelow) Paulsen passed away on Feb. 25, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Lawrence; her greatnephew Adam Mikelson; and her brother Norman Buelow.

Helen is survived by Duane, her very devoted husband of 63 years, who lovingly cared for her; children, Gregory Paulsen and Stephanie (Robert) Kahl of Omaha; grandson, Michael (Joelle) Paulsen of Bartlett, Illinois; four great-grandsons; and many loving friends whose friendship she valued.

Funeral services for Mark Schmid, 72, of Everly, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Rev. Brian Feller will officiate the service. A Catholic vigil service will take place at 4:30 p.m, prior to visitation. Visitation will take place Thursday, March 23, starting at 5 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Funeral services for June Davis, 102, of Peterson, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the First Congregational Church in Peterson. Rev. Tyler Thomsen will officiate the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment at Oakland Cemetery in Peterson. A time of lunch and fellowship will be conducted at the church immediately following the services.

Memorial services for Lynne Niemeyer, 76, of Spencer, will be held at a later date. Niemeyer passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Accura Health Care of Spirit Lake. Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent at www.warnerfuneral.com.

Tracy Rochelle Heller, 57, of West Des Moines, passed away at her home on Feb. 25, 2023. She was born on Nov. 1, 1965, in Royal, to John and Shirley (Zieman) Berberich.

Justin Avery Coates, 51, of Spencer, passed away Feb. 21, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at Spencer Family Church, 902 Fifth St. SW, in Spencer, with Rev. Larry Neiderhiser officiating.

Funeral services for Edward Morisch, 77, of Spencer, will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Rev. William Schreiber will officiate the service. Visitation will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 12, with the family present from 5-7 p.m., at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Private burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Funeral services for Murrell Lee Waldron, 86, of Spencer, will be conducted from 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Jennifer Hesebeck will officiate the service. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at Warner Funeral Home. A time of lunch and fellowship will take place at the Moose Lodge 496 following the service.

Pamela Jean Pates, 57, of Owatonna, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea with her family by her side.

Nola Marilyn Nelson, the daughter of Garnett J. Petersen, was born on Feb. 21, 1948, in Spencer. She was raised in the Royal area where she attended school and graduated from Clay Central High School.

Gina Lea (Johnson) Ean was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa. She was the fifth and youngest child whose parents were Marvin and Beverly Johnson, and was the youngest of five children following Linda, Toni, Cody and her brother Jan.

Bert M. Anderson, 86, of Spencer, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Thursday morning, Feb. 23, 2023, at the St. Luke Home in Spencer with her family by her side.

Justin Coates, 51, of Spencer, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at the Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg. Services will be held at a later date.

Robert “Bob” Peters, 77, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service for Bob will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
