Reynolds announces $16.5 million in new disaster recovery housing programs

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds unveiled several new housing programs on July 11, specifically aimed at helping Iowans recover from the floods and tornadoes that have destroyed as many as 2,000 homes across the state so far in 2024.

"We know the recovery is long, but we're going to be here for the long haul," Reynolds said on July 10 during a meeting with local officials in Spencer.

The Spencer Fire Department has identified more than 50 structures in town with major damage and is still searching, according to Chief Jesse Coulson.
