No injuries reported in Monday blaze

Spencer firefighters responded to their seventh working structure fire of the year on April 21. 

Firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 800 block of West 11th Avenue at 3:58 p.m. and were told that the reporting party had said “a whole room is on fire.” According to a news release from Spencer Fire Department Chief Jesse Coulson, the first fire truck and two firefighters arrived at the scene at 4:02 p.m.

The Spencer Fire Department has identified more than 50 structures in town with major damage and is still searching, according to Chief Jesse Coulson.
