Myrna Louise Heeren

Myrna Louise Heeren passed away on April 15th, 2024, at The Sycamore of River Falls at the age of 88. She was born June 13, 1935, in Sibley, Iowa to Jonas J. Onken and Lena (Park) Onken.

Myrna was united in marriage to Eltjo (Elmer) Heeren on September 22, 1955, in Sibley Iowa. They had 2 children together, Douglas and Curtis. They moved to Sheldon, Iowa where Elmer was a partner in a construction company and Myrna worked in the Sheldon hospital. Later they started United Marble Inc. where they made cultured marble products. They moved to Texas where Myrna started a cleaning business and Elmer worked for Bell Helicopter. They retired and decided to go RVing fulltime. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. After RV life they settled in Spencer, Iowa where she continued to enjoy retirement, sewing and fishing. After Elmer’s passing, Myrna met Jim Fairchild and they were companions for 12 years.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Jonas and Lena; spouse, Elmer; son, Curtis; and companion, Jim Fairchild. Left to cherish her memory are her sister: Mary (Paul) Brower, son: Doug (Tricia) Heeren, grandchildren: Patrick Heeren, Nathan (Kirstin) Heeren, Zachary (Melissa) Heeren, Timothy (LeeAnn) Heeren and Melissa (Gobind) Sundhu and 5 great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
