The city of Spencer has begun the process of taking ownership of an abandoned property at 617 E. 10th St. During Monday’s Spencer City Council meeting, the city approved a request for the Clay County Board of Supervisors to assign the tax sale certificate to the city, along with abatement assessments for mowing and snow removal.
