Recently, the Spencer Daybreakers Kiwanis secured a grant for the YMCA Gardening Club for a self-watering, self-fertilizing vertical garden called a Farmstand through the company Lettuce Grow, an entity founded by actress Zooey Deschanel and actor Jacob Pechenik. Kiwanis’s focus is on health and nutrition-and then Lettuce Give X Kiwanis was born.
