It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean, a beloved member of our community, who departed from this world on Feb. 10, 2023. Jean's journey came to an end, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth and indelible contributions to those fortunate enough to have known her.

Funeral services for Phyllis Haroldson, 97, of Spencer, will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday March 20, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Linn, Grove, Iowa. Vicar Rhonda Wykoff will officiate the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be at Barnes Township Cemetery in Linn Grove. Haroldson passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Home, in Spencer.

Jane Dalen, a tireless advocate for the disabled and a beacon of warmth, peacefully passed away on March 12, 2024. Born on Jan. 28, 1948, she dedicated her life to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Funeral services for Les Alsman, 69, of Spencer, will be conducted at a later date. Alsman passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at home in Spencer.

Mary Landas passed away March 4, 2024 at Resolute Hospital in New Braunfels, Texas. Mary was born in Sabetha, Kansas, on June 18, 1935, one of seven children of Benadict and Cordula Luckeroth.

Funeral services for Betty Mundus, 84, of Spencer, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2024, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. Dan Taylor will officiate the service. Mundus passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Warner Funeral is in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Jane (Irvine) Cacek, 100, a former resident of Sutherland, died peacefully on March 3, 2024 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

A funeral service held be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home Chapel, 715 W. Third St., Boone, IA 50036. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Sutherland on Friday, March 8, at 11 a.m. Memorials can be sent in Gladys’ name to the nonprofit of your choice.
