Private family services for Leroy Dean Dailey, 83, of Spencer, will be conducted at a later date. Dailey passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at Ruthven Care Center in Ruthven.

Leroy, the son of David and Eleanor (Truelson) Dailey, was born Aug. 17, 1939, in West Bend. His childhood years were spent in the Havelock area where he attended school and graduated from Havelock High School in 1957.

Graveside services for Robert Henry Hoeppner, 82, of Spencer, formerly of Hartley, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly. Rev. Dan Taylor will officiate. Hoeppner passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at Spencer Hospital.

Funeral services for Genevieve “Genny” Carol Bertness, 91, of Spencer, formerly of Arnolds Park, was conducted Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove. Rev. Perry Aalgaard officiated the service. Interment was at Barnes Township Cemetery in Linn Grove.

Memorial service for Ellen May Watterson Rohwer, 93, of Sutherland, who passed away on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at the Longhouse-Northshire in Spencer. Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at the Church of Christ in Sutherland with Rev. John Erickson officiating. Private family burial will be at Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland.

She passed away on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, reaching the age of 93 years, seven months and 27 days.

Denny Evans passed away on Aug. 2, 2022, at his home in New Caney, Texas. Denny was born on Oct. 10, 1945, in Spencer to Leland and Phyllis Evans and lived most of his adult life in the Houston area. After graduating from Spencer High School, Denny moved to Des Moines to attend college until he was drafted into the military where he was stationed in South Korea. When he returned he met and married Terri Hamrick in 1969.

Memorial services for Jim Henry Erwin, 90, of Spencer, will be conducted from 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Spencer. Rev. Curtis Batschelet will officiate the service. Visitation will be conducted one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Erwin passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at Longhouse Residence in Spencer.

Funeral services for Patricia Christenson will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Tim Hogan will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Private family interment will take place at a later date at St. Columbkille Cemetery in Varina.

Services for Marion Jacob Roghair, 91, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Paul Kaldahl will officiate the service. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., Wednesday, with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Interment will be at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Glen Pedersen Post 1 and VFW Clay County Post 414.

Rodney Lee Nielsen, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia.

Rod was born Aug. 10, 1934, in Ideal, South Dakota. His parents moved to Windom, Minnesota, the following year and he spent his childhood and youth helping on the family farm. He participated in 4-H, church activities, and high school basketball and baseball. He graduated from Windom High School in 1952.

A celebration of life for Judy Orrison, 76, will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer from 4-7 p.m. with private family committal services at a later time. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Clay County Fair Foundation, Abben Cancer Center, People for Pets, and First Congregational Church in Spencer. She passed away at her home on Aug. 5, 2022, surrounded by family.

Private family burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer prior to the services at the church. Virginia passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, at Spencer Hospital.

Karen Sue (Fowler) Grove, 81, passed away Aug. 9, 2022, at home in Grimes. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williams with a tribute and luncheon to follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. Family and Friends are welcome to share their memories during Karen’s tribute.

Graveside services for Rodney Nielsen, 87, of Chandler, Arizona, will be conducted from 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at the Trimello Cemetery in rural Royal. Rev. Curtis Batschelet will officiate the service. Nielsen passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2021, at Grand Canyon Assisted Living Home in Chandler.
