Michael “Mick” Conlon, 66, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Feb. 10, 2025. Throughout his life, Mick exemplified the true meaning of service, always prioritizing the needs of others. Whether he was tirelessly restoring electricity to communities ravaged by storms or cherishing quiet moments with his family in the home he created, his unwavering dedication and generous grin left an indelible mark on everyone around him.

As an electric lineman, Mick dedicated his career to keeping the lights on for communities across the country. His work took him from Spencer, to San Mateo, California, back to Iowa in Des Moines, and finally to the Seattle metropolitan area. Known for his dependability, he was consistently the first to respond to emergencies, traveling far to support crews during devastating East Coast storms and California wildfires. For Mick, this wasn’t just a job — it was a calling that combined his love of adventure with his desire to be there for others.

When Mick wasn’t in a bucket truck, he could often be found enjoying life’s simple pleasures. He loved being on the water, riding his motorcycle, working around the house or simply soaking up the sunshine. With his sly sense of humor and great taste in music, Mick’s presence always lightened the mood.

Mick is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Nick, Chris and Brittany (O’Brien); son-in-law, Garrett O’Brien; cherished grandchildren, Nyla, Keira and Kennedy O’Brien; sister, Cheryl Noble (Lon); and brothers, Donald (Laurie) and John Conlon.

His legacy endures through his beloved family and the communities he helped keep running through rain, snow and storms.
