Rosemary ‘Rosie’ Schoning

Memorial services for Rosemary “Rosie” Jolene Schoning, 76, of Spencer, formerly of Dickins, are at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, in Langdon United Methodist Church in Langdon. Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Friday at Warner Funeral Home in Everly. Burial will be at Meadow Township Cemetery in Langdon. Schoning passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at SPARC in Spencer.
Rosemary, the daughter of Luverne and Marie (Grady) Johnson, was born Feb. 26, 1948, in Sioux City. Her childhood years were spent in the Terril area, where she attended school and graduated from Terril High School in 1966.
Rosemary married Mike Schoning on March 10, 1967, to this union, they had five boys, they later divorced. She lived her adult life in Dickins where she drove a school bus for Terril Schools for 30 years. She also worked as a telemarketer and janitor for the school. Rosemary enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, listening to birds, card-club, following her kids sports, and especially spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lawrence Johnson.
Left to cherish her memory are her five children, Mike (Shelly) Schoning of Spencer, Matt (Brenda) Schoning of Spencer, Kenneth Schoning of Milford, Kevin Schoning of Fairmont, Minnesota, and Darren Schoning of Everly; five grandchildren, Emma, Darian, Megan, Grace and Cash; one sister, Lynn Davis, of Jacksonville, Florida; other relatives and many friends.
