Roger Dean Faulkender, the son of Merle and Frances Faulkender, was born April 19, 1953, in Spencer. His childhood was spent in Fostoria and later graduated from Milford High School.

Gary D. Zinn, 79, of Milford, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley.

Baedke passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at his residence in Savage.

Private family funeral services for Juan Fernando Martinez, 60, of Spencer, will be held at a later date in Great Bend, Kansas. Martinez passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, in Spencer. Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Craig Alan Wampler, 61, of Spencer, passed away on Nov. 26, 2022, after close to a yearlong battle with cancer.

A celebration of life for Doris Ellen Salton Treimer, 96, was conducted on Thursday, Dec.1, 2022, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley. Rev. Chris Nitzel officiated the service. She was laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley.

Doris was born to Christian parents, William and Ida Johnson Salton, on May 3, 1926, on a farm in Clay County. She passed away on Nov. 27, 2022, in Hartley. Doris was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven.

Funeral services for Norman Dean Spooner, 68, will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Rev. Tim Hogan will officiate the service. Public Service Vigil is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Private interment will be at Holy Name Cemetery in Marcus at a later date

Funeral services for Javan Keith Kruse, 37, of Hartley, formerly of Everly, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal. Rev. Mark Wilms will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Friday, at the church.The family encouraged everyone attending to wear Iowa State Cyclone gear in honor of Javan. Interment will be conducted at Willow Creek Cemetery in rural Royal.

Raymond L. Kassel, 96, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away Monday, No. 28, 2022, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Warren Kassel.

Raymond is survived by his three children; two grandchildren: Brian (Michelle) Dunblazier and their four children, and Megan (Ryan) Pickard; and a great-granddaughter, Kennedy (Jared) Warne and their daughter.

Danny Joseph Dobbins, a Navy veteran and longtime resident of Littleton, North Carolina, passed away on Nov. 15, 2022, in Richmond, Virginia, with his loving family by his side.

Danny was born Sept. 6, 1957, to Donald and Lauralee (Cogdill) Dobbins in Spencer. He attended Spencer High School (Class of 1975) before enlisting in the U.S. Navy.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone. Rev. Brian Jack, of Milford, will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until the start of the 2:30 p.m. memorial service.
