Services for Virginia Ann Christensen, 91, of Spencer, formerly of Royal, will be conducted Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Royal. Rev. Mark Wilms will officiate the service. Private family burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer prior to the services at the church. Virginia passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, at Spencer Hospital.

Karen Sue (Fowler) Grove, 81, passed away Aug. 9, 2022, at home in Grimes. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williams with a tribute and luncheon to follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. Family and Friends are welcome to share their memories during Karen’s tribute.

Graveside services for Rodney Nielsen, 87, of Chandler, Arizona, will be conducted from 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at the Trimello Cemetery in rural Royal. Rev. Curtis Batschelet will officiate the service. Nielsen passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2021, at Grand Canyon Assisted Living Home in Chandler. In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Nielsen may be given to Music Mission Kiev or Gideon's International.

Graveside services for Linda Lee Zech, 67, of Rock Rapids, formerly of Spencer, will be conducted at 10: 30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Rev. Tom Petersen will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

Linda (Fairchild) Zech passed away on Aug. 5, 2022, in Rock Rapids.

Sara Mae Higgins Koepp passed away Friday night, Aug. 5, 2022, in the skilled nursing facility (Accura) in Milford. Her family is thankful she is no longer suffering from the lymphoma she has battled since last year, and the complications of a recent compound fracture of her leg.

Sara was born on Dec. 20, 1935, to Chrystal Higgins and George O. Higgins of Webb, Iowa

Memorial services for Craig Cook, formerly of Spencer, will be held on Aug. 6, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Craig passed away in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at the age of 82 with family members present.

Robert J. Jourdan Jr., 88, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Spencer, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

He was married for 63 years to Virginia “Ginny” Jourdan who preceded him in death. He worked many years for Eaton Corp. before retiring and moving to Olathe to be near his grandchildren. He was a die-hard Buckeye to the grave.
