James “Jim” Craig Hill was born June 23, 1949, in Spencer, to Charles James Hill and Ruth Margaret (Ewers) Hill. Jim spent his youth in Spencer and following graduation from Spencer High School in 1967 he attended Mankato State College where he received a B.S. degree in 1971.

Audrey Johannsen, 91, of Storm Lake, died Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Merlin B. Halverson, 82, passed away on May 6, 2024, in Lawrence, Kansas. He enjoyed singing especially in his church choir and barbershop quartet, telling jokes, reminiscing with friends and neighbors, and working in his home workshop.

Marty, daughter of Joe L. and Minnie (Luzy) Sweet, was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Webb. She received her education in Gillet Grove, graduating from high school in 1958.
