Bert M. Anderson, 86, of Spencer, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Thursday morning, Feb. 23, 2023, at the St. Luke Home in Spencer with her family by her side.

Justin Coates, 51, of Spencer, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at the Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg. Services will be held at a later date.

Robert “Bob” Peters, 77, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service for Bob will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Nola M. Nelson, 75, of Spencer, will be conducted from 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at Foundation Church in Spencer. Rev. Nicholas Hanges will officiate the service. Following the services, there will be a lunch served at the church before going to a cemetery. Interment will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Little Sioux Lutheran Cemetery in rural Milford. Nelson passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.

Bernard “Bill” W. Schroeder passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at Luther Manor in Dubuque. A memorial service will be at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Dubuque, 1699 Iowa St., on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 11 a.m.

Bill was born in Emmetsburg to Bernard F. Schroeder and Margery Schroeder in January 1933.

Funerals services for Robert “Louie” Louis Jensen, 91, Laughlintown, Pennsylvania, formerly of O’Brien County, will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Dr. Lynn Dau will officiate the service. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. A time of lunch and fellowship will take place at the Prime Rib in Spencer, following the graveside service.

Jerald “Jerry” Lamont Baier, 89, of Sioux Rapids, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, following a courageous three-year battle with an aggressive cancer.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Church in Sioux Rapids. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Peterson. Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids.

Funeral services for Renil Van Overbeke, 97, of Marcus, formerly of Sutherland, will be conducted from 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hartley. Rev. Tim Hogan will officiate the service. Visitation will be conducted one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sutherland. Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 152. Van Overbeke passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, at Heartland Care Center in Marcus.

Graveside services for Lorraine Stulen, 85, of Spencer, will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at Dickens Cemetery, in Dickens. Stulen passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at Spencer Hospital. Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Clara “Sis” Lorraine Birchard, 96, of Spencer, will be conducted from 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. David Ellenwood will officiate the service. Visitation will be conducted one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Birchard passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.

Funeral services for Loretta Kendall, 88, of Spencer, will be conducted from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Paul Kaldahl will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, with the family present, at the church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Terril. Kendall passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Joanne Keyes (Marie Morin), beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, sadly passed away at the age of 58 on Jan. 27, 2023.

Ronald Allen McMillin, of Everly, passed away in his home Jan. 26, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at Ruthven United Methodist Church, burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.

Memorial services for Jan Stein, 83, of Spencer, will be conducted from 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Paul Kaldahl will officiate the service. Visitation with the family will be conducted from 3-5 p.m. Northlawn Memorial Park at a later dare.

Julie Kay Brandt, 63, of Marion, died on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, from complications of leukemia. Her survivors include her husband, Blake Brandt; daughter, Molly Brandt of Minneapolis, Minnesota; brother, Steve Winther, of Midland, Texas; parents, Merlyn and Sonna Winther of Spencer; and niece and nephew, Sierra and Jordan, of Midland, Texas.
