ESTHERVILLE — Award-winning Iowa journalist and playwright Amy Peterson has earned her sixth honorable mention in the international Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition for "La Vie: Fashion and Fate," an extract from her forthcoming play.

The story, which centers on a woman fighting to save her family's traditional clothing store while battling against today's disposable consumer culture.
