Wolfe Eye Clinic team cuts ribbon at new location

David Saggau, MD, welcomed guests and Spencer Chamber Ambassadors Tuesday evening to the new location of the Wolfe Eye Clinic at 2004 Highway Blvd. The eye care center hosted the Chamber Business After Hours event and used the opportunity for Dr. Stephen Fox to cut the ceremonial ribbon on the facility.

Baccam becomes newest Hy-Noon Crossman recipient

Spencer Hy-Noon Kiwanis members welcomed its newest recipient of the Crossman Fellowship, Past-President Kelsie Baccam (far right). The Crossman is named after Raymond Crossman, a former member of the Omaha Downtown Club and the third Nebraska-Iowa District governor from 1933-23. From 1930-31, he served as president of Kiwanis International. The local Hy-Noon club made a $500 donation to the Foundation General Endowment Fund.

Funeral services for Diana Walvoord, 73, of Spencer, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Mark Wilms will officiate the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Walvoord passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Pearl Valley Nursing Home in Primghar. Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Recently the Spencer Fire Department went into the Spencer schools to provide educational opportunities regarding prevention information. Local firefighters shared prevention tips and interacted with the students.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Terril at 2 p.m. Johnson passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley. Funeral services for Janice Kay Swanson, 84, of Spencer, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Paul Kaldahl will officiate the service. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday with the family present from 4-6 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. A time of lunch and fellowship will be at the church following the graveside service.

Israel Arcos-Flores

Memorial services for Israel Arcos-Flores, 41, of Spencer, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Paul Kelly will officiate the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date.
Israel, the son of Felix Flores and Maria Arcos, was born June 1, 1980, in Vera Cruz, Mexico. His childhood years were spent in the Vera Cruz area, where he attended school.

Carl Martin

Carl Martin, 58, of Connersville, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 18, 2021.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1963, in Spencer to his parents Edward Martin and Bessie (Evans) Martin.
Carl was a faithful member of Richmond New Life Tabernacle, and his priorities in life were his family and the Lord.
