STORM LAKE -- In the thrill of the descent all senses are heightened -- the smell of crisp fresh air, the feel of the wind rushing at your face, the sharp, rustling sounds of cold jackets and pants. Length limits Lady Tigers

Spencer's girls returned to the hardwood Saturday evening for a showdown with rival Spirit Lake in the Field House. The Lady Tigers hung tough in the early going against the 3A No. 4-ranked Indians, but a couple of key 3-pointers opened the floor for the visitors which allowed them to take full advantage of their height and length, causing a 59-35 Spencer defeat.

Indian defense swallows Spencer

The Tigers showed good patience and ball movement against Spirit Lake's rotating zone defensive sets, but the Indians' size, anchored by 6-foot-9 junior Ryan Kriener, proved to be too much to overcome, holding Spencer to their lowest scoring output of the season in a 61-41 Spirit Lake victory.
